The local library has limited shelf space and books can only be added and removed by one person. Also, the larger the book shelf, the longer it takes to find anything. And eventually the librarian gets overwhelmed and refuses to even go look for the book. S3 buckets are like renting extra shelf space in a library closer to those that need access to it. Each Contrib becomes their own librarian and has authority over what is added or subtracted from their shelf and who may check out their collection. Buckets are bottomless shelves. They aren’t free but they are very affordable. And very user freindly.
S3 means, Simple Storage System and it actually is for those granted the required permissions to manipulate. Spirit Contributors will be assigned necessary admin privileges to both SpiritsAbound local site and AWS S3 and other resources as may become implemented.
